13th Street between Washington Avenue and St. Charles Street in its current form it is unsafe for both pedestrians and motorists.
Therefore, the Planning & Zoning Committee has held discussions at the committee level for the past few months about ways to improve it and held a public charrette to gain community feedback on the site. Currently, the consensus from the community is to turn the space into a pedestrian only walkway with infrastructure put in place to improve the community’s ability hold events in the space.
The above image was created using the feedback from these discussion, and our next step is to gather more feedback from nearby property owners as well as the City of St. Louis Streets Department and Department of Public Safety.
